Holiday greetings from San Francisco! We took Tyler, age 10, on an adventure last week to enjoy the sights of the City by the Bay. And we found merry Christmas decor everywhere, adding charm and light. Here are Christmas trees and decorations to cheer you this season.
The Christmas tree in Union Square dazzles. Macy’s added new window dressing this year that’s a real crowd pleaser. Puppies from a shelter tumble and frolic — and they are adoptable. What a great way to help get these pups in a new home for the holidays.
We stayed at the Hilton on Union Square, which is a lovely hotel in any season. The hotel goes all out for the holidays. One of the cable car lines runs through the business district to the wharf. You can take in all the decorations as you ride down California Street. This tree was my favorite. Our go-to breakfast restaurant is Sears on Union Square. This 80-year-0ld establishment has served some famous people, and it’s often filled with regular patrons. The Swedish pancakes can’t be beat. The venerable St. Francis Hotel on Union Square decks out its lobby and halls for Christmas.
We are back home and ready for a week of preparing for Christmas — wrapping gifts, baking, spreading good cheer. Our time in San Francisco boosted our holiday spirits to ultra bright. How about you? Where do you enjoy going during this season?
