You and I have memories
Longer than the road that stretches out ahead.
— The Beatles
This week’s song for Song-ography is “Two of Us” by the Beatles. It speaks of friendship and shared experiences. For my take on this song, I’m focusing on two people who are still new at creating their memories together. I hope they will have a winding road ahead filled with joy in their relationship. They live in this rambling, fine house that’s almost a century old. And they are my son and my grandson.
During my last visit with my family, Matt dressed up to sing at a memorial service. I don’t often see him in a suit. So I asked if I could take a picture of him. “Like the first day of school?” he joked. Yes, once a mom always a mom. So off we went to front porch for a quick photo shoot. You can tell how excited Matt is to pose for me.
Tyler loves his daddy, whether Dad is wearing a suit or sweats. Doesn’t matter. They have a bond that’s growing always stronger. They’ll forge it in the house with the winding brick path. Their future stretches out ahead. I love them.
Linking up with a song-inspired party, Song-ography, where the theme this week is “Two of Us” by The Beatles.
