Disneyland is often called the “happiest place on earth.” A visit to this Magic Kingdom during the holidays will give you not only the happy feels, but on my last day spent here, I could almost feel the possibility of peace on earth. This year has not been an easy one for our big world, so the images of children holding hands across the globe is especially poignant.
In this tiny microcosm of the world, people swirling all around go out of their way to be kind, polite, helpful, encouraging, and smiley. Children of all ages, even the grown-up kind, gaze in wonder at the lights, the characters (“Mickey!!!”), the razzle dazzle of the rides and sounds and music. And all this is heightened at the holidays.
The castle, centerpiece of Disneyland, is frosted for winter.
Cars Land is cuter than ever, with its hub cap Christmas tree.
And how can you keep from chuckling at a tree made of oil cans.
Even Mater the truck wears a giant red Santa hat as he cruises along.
In the afternoon, the holiday parade winds down Main Street, with a fabulous array of Disney characters decked out for the season.
The real enchantment comes as the sun sets and the lights twinkle on. Small World, normally sporting a white exterior, is decked out with thousands of lights of red and green.
Inside the ride, the Small World song is intertwined with Deck the Halls. Here’s where the whole world in childlike forms comes together to celebrate.
Main Street is decked out in holiday finery, crowned with the stately Christmas Tree. You have to take a photo here, showing you and those you love celebrating the joy of the season.
The day is capped by a fantastic fireworks show over the castle, with holiday music, lights painting holly and ivy on the buildings, and falling snow. It’s simply a bit of heaven on earth.
As everyone oohs and aahs and then laughs their way out of the park, you can truly imagine a world where all is calm, all is bright, joy reigns, and peace and love settle over all.
Wishing each one of you many moments of magic this holiday and lasting joy for the New Year!

Love your photos from the ‘happiest place on earth’. It has been many years since I visited D-land, so many changes.
Thanks for sharing the Holiday lights!!
How fun! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
I bet Disney is even more magical during the holidays!
Photo paradise. Happy Christmas time.
Disney always makes everything better. I’ve been to Disney World in Orlando more times than I can count. Yup, love it.
They certainly put on a fantastic show, as your photos well illustrate.

Love your night captures the most! After singing Christmas carols at Disney, I have a very different view of it, since when one “works” there, you see the back side, lol! Still appreciate their knack for decor and the fireworks though! Many thanks for giving the All Seasons-ers a taste of Disney. Have a very merry Christmas Sharon, you and your family, and see you back at New Years eve!
Great.
Lovely festive photos that are delightful this time of year and throughout the year too ~
Happy Week to you,

Lovely photos from Disney Land. Love the bright colors.
I think my theme park days are over, but seeing this make me want to schedule a Christmas visit just for the photography value alone.
Happy Holidays!
Worth a Thousand Words
I love your castle shots! The detail is beautiful! Your images have me wanting to return to Disney.
I’ve only been to Disneyland once. Hoping to see Disney World next year. Lovely photos!
These glittering shots had me grinning from ear to ear. A couple of years ago we visited Disneyworld because our son joined his high school marching band in one of the Parades over Thanksgiving. Great memories! I agree with you – we should take some pixie dust from Disney and sprinkle it over the whole world! Peace and joy of the season to you!
