Making Friends with the Clock

My find this week not only looks luscious, it smells and tastes like Spring, too!

Strawberry season is here! I love them plain, on cereal, in yogurt, dipped in chocolate, and of course, in pie. What’s your favorite way to eat strawberries?

This week I’ve been battling the time change. It’s dark o-thirty when I drive to work now. Ugh! So in an effort to make friends again with my clocks, I decided to show you my favorite ones. And I do really like clocks (just not right now).

1. First up, this delightful French-themed clock. See the Eiffel Tower?

2. This little red one hangs over my piano. It tells me when it’s time to wind up a piano lesson.

3. This one I found sitting out on a curb, free for the taking. I carried it a few blocks and gave it a new home, complete with its own greenery.

4. See the cat? I love this ceramic decorative clock.

5. This one is guilty of ringing at 5:15 every morning on my bedside table. It’s old and dinged and not charming. But it faithfully does its job.

How about you? Has the time changed for you this week? Are you struggling like me to adjust?

Linking up with Random 5 Friday and Friday Finds.

I like the Paris and cat clocks best. There was an article the otehr day about how the time change contributes to death…i believe it.

this is a gorgeous collection of clocks, imagine someone tossing that lovely clock out, our time change doesn’t happen for a couple of weeks, when it does it won’t bother me, the time change hasn’t ever made any real difference to me, though I know a lot of people where it does wreck havoc with them for a while.

We don’t have daylight savings time in Singapore. But I do need to pay attention to it – to know when to call the family back in the states! Love all your clock photos a fun Friday find!

I love your clocks, and what a fantastic theme for daylight savings time! I can relate to driving to work at dark-o-thirty. On the up side, my cat who usually looks for attention at 4am is also thrown off an hour – I wonder how long that will last. Have a nice weekend!

“dark-o’thirty” – yea, I hear ya on that. Not a fan of Daylight savings time – at all. Love the ‘free to good home’ clock.

It took me a few days to adjust to the spring forward too. Neat idea sharing different clocks you have. I like the first one.

I am struggling with the time change in the evening. It stays light so much later that unless I am sitting by a clock I lose track of the fact that it is dinner time. The good thing about it is my alarms (my cats wake me in the morning when it is time to eat breakfast) wake me up an hour later because their little head clocks haven’t changed. I love all of your clocks. I have a few antique clocks, but I had to stop using them other than for decor because they would all go off at the same time every hour and it was very distracting and noisy especially if I was trying to carry on a conversation with someone. This was a lovely thought provoking post … you have a great week.

Time change has a way of messing with our schedules and our minds. I have never quite understood why we try to change nature in this manner, though it is nice when it works to our advantage, I guess. Thank goodness, my husband had changed all of our time pieces, even my own watch. At times like this, it makes me realize that he is often unappreciated by me. Don’t let him know that I told you that!

I love your clocks … all except for the one that rings at 5:15 AM. That I couldn’t take. Kudos to you for doing it.

Sharon – You will never be late! I would abolish Daylight Savings but no one important is listening to me.

Very nice collection of clocks. My mother always had lots of clocks and after she passed away, I selected several to keep. So now, I have lots of clocks. I especially like the one you saved from destruction. I’ve been having trouble waking up every morning this week. Looking forward to the day when my body finally adjusts.

Cannot believe someone just pitched that pretty clock with shelves, and a lucky find for you. I don’t have that many, but do seem to be attracted to the clock section whenever in a store. Very nice finds. Happy Friday…:)
