It Takes A Village (to Find a Hat)

Are you a hat person? I own one cap and I’ve worn it only 2 or 3 times, ever. My husband asked me to go with him to help him pick out a hat, something that goes beyond the basic baseball cap in style. I’m the opposite of a seasoned hat shopper, so this was new territory for me. Our trip to the Village Hat Store proved that it really does take a village to satisfy the widely varied population of hat shoppers.

Some hats had complicated feathers for decor.

Bows, curlicues, lace, buttons — it’s all good in this place.

You can find any color you want. Really.

Lots of contemplation goes into just the right haberdashery choice.

OK, even a non-hat-wearing girl like me had to try at least one.

Here’s my favorite. Feminine, adorable, dusty pink. Perfect.

The legendary hats (that would be the Stetsons) are in the back of the store. All the wooden round forms are actually used to make and repair hats here.

You’ll be glad to hear that our trip to this village ended in success, with a purchase from the helpful store manager.

How about you? Are you a hat connoisseur? Do you have a go-to hat style? I’m still thinking about that jaunty lace number with the ribbon of pink . . .

What a wonderful array of hats! I love a nice straw summer hat,…but unfortunately it always gives me hat head and rarely wear it. So alas I admire many from afar but only own one ๐Ÿ˜‰

I wish I could pull off more hat wearing, but alas I cannot. My daughter looks great in every hat imaginable. She’s a lucky one!

I love looking at hats, but don’t particularly enjoy wearing one. It gets in the way most of the time. My daughter loves hats and looks great in pretty much any hat. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that is quite a place to visit and browse. So many hats, so little time. So many choices.

I am so jealous of people who wear hats well. I have a huge, over-sized head and can never find a hat to fit. Bummer!

What a fun hat shop! I adore hats, but don’t often wear them. They make me feel self-conscious unless I’m really someplace that warrants a hat, like the beach. But I should get over myself and just wear them since I love them so much!
