Here With the Ones Who Love Me

Thanksgiving Gratitude

I have been blessed, and I feel like I’ve found my way.
I thank God for all I’ve been given at the end of every day.
I have been blessed with so much more than I deserve,
To be here with the ones that love me.
To love them so much it hurts.
I have been blessed.

Are you with the ones you love today? For me, the answer is yes and no. Some are near, some are far. Isn’t that the way with life for so many of us? Sun and shade, joy and sadness.

The scales are tipping way towards joy today, I’m happy to report! My family is celebrating Thanksgiving. My daughter is coming to town, my mom is bringing her famous corn casserole, and I’m making stuffing with wheat bread and cashews. Pumpkin bread is baked (and sampled–yummm!). And fresh flowers are on the table.

I picked out flowers that are red and yellow. Red, my favorite color, is a happy color. And yellow brings sunshine to my heart.

The best part, though, will be tonight, when I’ll be “here with the ones that love me.”

Oh, yeah, I have been blessed. And this season of thanks is a good time to revel in those blessings.

How about you? Will you be with friends and family for the holidays?

Linking up with a song-inspired party, Song-ography, where the theme this week is “Blessed.”

Isn’t it a shame we only have ONE day a year where we “officially” celebrate “thankfulness”? So glad you are spending it with loved ones. And yes…sun/shade, joy/sadness…it’s the way of the world. So embrace the days of sun and joy :). Love that last shot of the flowers with the stray leaves…the epitome of beginnings and endings. Fantastic post! Thanks for joining in on Song-ography and HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🙂

Have a wonderful holiday! We will be away from most of our family, but we love to make a Thanksgiving dinner–even if it’s just our little family unit. Have a great week!

The best this holiday has to offer is being able to be with family and loved ones. We won’t get to do that this year, but I will enjoy the day with my husband and son and that is no small blessing in and of itself because I know never to take it for granted.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

I always feel a little sad at Thanksgiving because as a whole my entire family rarely celebrates together. Still I do enjoy the company of those who are there. Our blessings come from being thankful for what we have and not for what we wished we had.
Loved your pretty flowers, especially the last shot.

Our children are scattered, but we just had a long and lovely visit with one, and we’re working out a schedule to see the other (he just started a new job, so he can’t get away at Thanksgiving). We will have a wonderful dinner and count our many blessings, though it will just be the two of us.
