Evidence of Lazy

How does “lazy” show up in your life? I can show you one way to see just how lazy how I can be. It’s this pesky project of converting print photos to digital. Remember when we used film and waited on pins and needles for our developed prints? We didn’t know if our photos were disasters or keepers until we picked them up from the neighborhood drugstore. Then we culled the best and put them in albums.

So, someday I’m going to scan those photos. For about four years now I’ve been meaning to hop on this. I have so many albums, though, that it’s overwhelming. And some of the albums are lovely. Paris photos? They live in a Degas album.

Italy is in an album of the world.

But you can see that the pages are looking almost as aged as the coliseum. (No comments on the aged person in the aged coliseum, please.)

Someday . . . I will power through my laziness and get this done. Today — well, I’d really rather settle down with a good book. Just call me Lazy Daisy.

How about you? Is there a project you keep putting off? Do you have albums of photos?

Linking up with a song-inspired party, Song-ography, where the theme this week is “Lazy” by Bruno Mars.

What a time consuming project! I’d get so distracted looking at all of those beautiful photos.

I have so many pictures from my parents that I had hoped to scan in and share with my siblings – this is not a realistic assignment; so they will get but bits and pieces. I struggle enough with weeding through the digital and eliminating duplicates and ‘less than stellar’ pictures – I know my limits. (and maybe the title for that is ‘lazy’ – if so, I can live with that.) 🙂

Oh my, I totally relate to this! I have albums upon albums of photos that I’m afraid are living on borrowed time. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.

Yo Daisy! At least your pics are in albums — most of mine from “film” days are in boxes. You’re one step ahead of me!

So true. It’s so easy to wait when you know what you are getting. It is important to get them printed!

Great post. I still have disposable cameras that never got developed! I have many, many albums, too. For a while I had an album of just my favorite photos out on a coffee table. That book was picked up and looked through often. It’s a dilemma – I feel like I want to scan my old photos and get them into digital format, but on the other hand I don’t print our enough of my digital photos – so we don’t really enjoy them very often. I’ll have to think about that on a day when I’m not being lazy.

I pulled all my photos out of the albums and put them in envelopes to do the same thing. 6 years ago. Haven’t scanned one!

I’ve got several albums myself that should have something done to them. Oh goodness the projects that need done just boggle my mind. I think I need a nap now just thing about them! Great interpretation of the song.

Oh I can so empathize with what you have said. I have about 50 huge photo albums, and would hardly have any idea where to begin with a project like this. I occassionally scan in a few for a project or blog post, but meanwhile will have to just enjoy paging through the albums.

Hah – I’ve got that kind of evidence, too. But guess, what? Just yesterday I finally got myself a scanner and did scan the very first photos from 20 years ago. I was really surprised how quick the scanner works these days. You should give it a try. Soon, since the quality of prints really degrades.
