Desert Skies

Palm Springs

The desert, when the sun comes up…I couldn’t tell where heaven stopped and the Earth began.                                                                                                          Tom Hanks

Where do you go to relax? To let go of your cares and clear your mind? One of my favorite places is the desert. We enjoyed a short trip there over the recent holiday. The sky put on a sunrise show for us.

The heat bakes all my worries right out. It was 108 outside, pleasant inside. Perfect for a leisurely breakfast and cafe au lait as we took in the changing shadows and light playing on the mountains.

The sunset once again lit up the sky with beauty.

How about you? Where do you find you can completely relax?

Ah yes, gorgeous skies indeed! Love the mountains and palm trees, too – not something we see up here in the Canadian prairies!

Oh wow, that looks like an amazing place! I’ve never actually been to a desert, now I want to. For me I like to go sit in the shadows of a great big shade tree and watch the way the sun filters through the leaves and dapples the ground below.

You captured some glorious skies! We visit Arizona to get away from our cold winters and it’s not often we see a lot of clouds – these are gorgeous!

Wow… beautiful photos! My husband and I always loved going to Minter Gardens for so many years and they closed it down at the end of the season last year. It was such a peaceful to visit. We miss it a lot. We do have our patio that we love and enjoy sitting out.

108 wowsa! and I think it is hot in Singapore in the 80s …but we are only 80 miles from the equator so our 85 is probably like 108!.. Beautiful shots.

Wonderful series of photos. I, too, like the desert, but mainly of Northern New Mexico. But, for complete relaxation, for me, it takes the Pacific Coast ocean.

Such amazing clouds! That’s always one of my favorite sights–when skies make their magic. 🙂
