Born to Run

“Baby, we were born to run.” This week’s song for Song-ography is Bruce Springsteen’s classic. When I learned the theme the same day went to dog beach in Coronado, the connection was unmistakeable. Dogs are born to run.

You see all kinds of dogs here, tall and short and furry and black and white and brown and young and old.

They run, one and all.

Even this guy. He actually ran, kind of!

Often the dogs run because they are chasing a toy.

Sometimes they chase each other in a merry game of tag.

Some dogs run just because it’s fun.

We’re all born to run, in a sense. When we grow up, it’s easy to lose sight of that, to lean toward the serious, forget the joy. These dogs give us a glimpse of what it’s like to live with abandon, pursue happiness, run through the waves and feel the sun, just because it’s fun.

Baby, you were born to run. Wishing you a week in which you reconnect with what it feels like to run with joy!

Linking up with a song-inspired party, Song-ography, where the theme this week is “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen.

Great sense of ‘wild abandon’ captured – there really is joy in watching them in motion!

What sheer joy, to run with abandon and joy! Fantastic captures you’ve posted here. I particularly like the shadows and reflections on the sand and in the water. Thanks for joining in on Song-ography this week.

Oh my goodness what a fun time you had capturing the joy of these dogs running on the beach. Did chuckle a little at that Basset Hound!

I love this post and all these happy dogs….my folks had a bassett that actually did run fast. You should have seen those little legs go and the ears fly back.
This is such a super interpretation.

That basset hound didn’t look like he COULD run! Poor little guy! His legs are too short to run with all that body! Kinda’ like me!
