Anticipation

Isn’t it fun to prepare for a red-letter event? I love the anticipation of a family get-together, a holiday, a vacation. A wedding! We are just 30-some days away from my daughter’s wedding. The prep filled this weekend. Meg came to town armed with long lists with headings like “URGENT.”

One item on the to-do list: find vases for the centerpieces. So we headed to a flower shop. I found orchids.

And tiny blue glass vases.

And a walk-in refrigerated room of flowers. If only I could “show” you the wonderful fragrance, too!

Vases chosen, time to check out and pack them in the car. Cross off one more to-do on the list.

Last errand: A tasting of possibilities for the dessert table.

Sometimes it’s a tough job being a mom. This weekend, for this mom, was pure delight, topped off with chocolate and butter cream.

How about you? Is your family getting ready for something momentous?

Congratulations to your daughter and family. It was such a mixture of emotions from planning to the day of the event for me, but I too loved every moment spent with my daughter and seeing the woman she’d become as she did most of the preparations. I always teased that I was her walking purse as we went out and about gathering ideas and things for the wedding. Love the photos of the flowers. Brings a little sunshine into my cold day here. πŸ™‚
