An Elegant Gift

Have you been surprised by beauty lately? When I opened my front door this weekend, a tall white box leaned against the wall. Flowers! My son and his family, knowing I had a rather rough week, ordered a bouquet of orchids. From their home in Michigan, thousands of miles away, they reached out with love.

Now this tangible reminder of these people who are so dear to me sits on my glass coffee table. Not only are these flowers lovely, but they smell delicious, too. Even one bloom is breathtaking.

And altogether, these long-stemmed orchids are a profusion of cheeriness.

So, I’ve been smiling a lot!

How about you? Has someone you care about surprised you with a tangible gift of love lately?

I’m sorry you’ve had a tough week, but glad you have a son who is so thoughtful as to send you this lovely bouquet. Thanks for sharing it with us at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2016/02/abstractions.html

How wonderful, Sharon! I love orchids. When my dad passed away last year a sweet friend sent me a bouquet of white orchids. Now, they will always remind me of my dad, and my friends kindness. I hope things are more cheerful for you in the week ahead!

These are gorgeous! I’ve never gotten them in a bunch like that, usually just potted ones. WOW!

Oh those are lovely. I love the color. Sadly, the would give me a sinus headache from allergies. I went to an orchid show once and was sick as a dog afterward.
