All Kinds of Kinds

It takes all kinds of kinds.
All kinds of kinds.
               — Miranda Lambert

Ah, the infinite variety and beauty in the world! As this song says, we can find “all kinds of kinds.” I’m going with the title and looking at one of my favorite things — trees. How many kinds can we find? Something approaching infinity. Here are a few that top my list.

The Pine

Towering, stately, fragrant. Did you know the bark of the Ponderosa Pine smells like vanilla?

Look at these two babies. I have a special spot in my heart for the pine babies.

They grow up to be SO big!

The Oak

These dot the mountains near my home and display their colors in the fall.

Apple Trees

These blossom in spring, bear apples in autumn. They are short and scraggly, but who cares? Just look at them apples!

The Palm

My city is built on a desert. Palms are everywhere. They mean sun and warmth and home to me.

How about you? Which kinds of kinds of trees are your favorites?

Linking up with a song-inspired party, Song-ography, where the theme this week is “All Kinds of Kinds.”

Looks like we are sharing a wave-length this week my friend! :). All these photographs are quite breathtaking! But I have to say, I am particularly drawn to that apple tree. Viewing the apples from this perspective…WOW. Gorgeous! Thanks for linking up to Song-ography!

Loving all your trees, and like Kathy I love that apple tree shot. I didn’t know that about the bark on a pine tree smelling like vanilla…gonna have to check that out!

Nice choice for this week’s song. I’m partial to the palm tree which I can only see in my dreams of being on a tropical island.

What a creative take! My name, in Hebrew, means a Date Palm (like the fruits) – but I also love the Japanese Maples and Willows – such beauty everywhere!

Great take on all kinds of kinds (of trees)! Think about it for a second – it’s probably in the thousands. Great captures.

So true – and aren’t we the beneficiaries of all the different kinds. Gorgeous oaks and great perspectives up the pine and apple trees.

I live in the Great Lakes region – we have all kinds of seasons & all kinds of trees, I love them all. But, I love to escape to the sunny south and sit under a swaying palm tree at least once every year!

It is as trees begin to loos their leaves, and I see the silhouettes of the branches against the sky, that I am struck by how much variety there is… this is a beautiful treatment of all the different trees! Love the perspective looking UP to the tree tops!

Trees are beautiful and your shots are too. Loving the Apple Tree shot and those Golden Yellow leaves. I have never smelled Ponderosa Pine bark, Vanilla scented…interesting.

My favorite by far is the palm tree, especially in Hawaii, where you always hear the trade winds blowing the palm fronds..music to my ears!
