A Day at the Ocean

Torrey Pines 004

When this world’s too much
It will be only the ocean and me;
When these sails go up,
Mountains fade away,
Stars come back,
I’m finally free . . .
It’s only the ocean and me.

Nature offers comfort in so many forms, and the ocean is one of my favorites. We enjoyed a sunny hike along the cliffs over the Torrey Pines beach, taking in the soothing roll of the waves below.

The fragile cliffs crumble from time to time.

The stairs leading down to the beach were closed recently. But this day they were open again.

It’s only the ocean and you
And all of these lines
Will all be erased soon;
They go out with the tide
And come back with the waves.

A day at the ocean’s edge, strolling on the beach, breathing in the salty air — life resets, troubles are washed away, a hilly hike leaves you pleasantly worn and content.

How about you? Has time outside revived you lately?

So beautiful Sharon! Both your words and your photos brought not only a smile to my face but a feel of warmth to my heart. I do so love the ocean. I haven’t been out in nature recently but then it is bitterly cold here just now. Have a great day!

Beautiful photos! Love that blue blue water. I’m afraid the Atlantic Ocean is rather cold and grey these days….

Yes, definitely! I found a drive down the California coast with many stops to be very rejuvenating. You have some great ocean photos here. It’s one of my favorite views. Followed here from image-in-ing’s Wordless Wednesday.

Nice set of images. I’m not a true ocean person but I am a fan of landscapes and these are very nice. Have a blessed week.

So, so pretty. I miss the beach. I haven’t been to the beach in four years. I think it’s about time. What a perfectly, perfect day :-D.

Gorgeous beach – stairs, not so much. I totally see myself getting down those the hard way. Lovely share.

Oh my…the colors of that water are breathtaking. I don’t away often enough, but closing my eyes and breathing with purpose sets me back to “normal” to keep going.

Love those lyrics because they convey exactly how I feel about the ocean. Beautiful photography to accompany them too. Thanks for joining in at Song-ography.

Ahhhh, a woman after my own heart. I love the ocean’s therapeutic effects. Beautiful seaside captures. I’ll be having “therapy sessions” in a few weeks!
