Light and White

Is your world filled with snow? So many of you are taking photos of snow-filled fields and lanes and benches, frozen lakes, and tree branches iced in white. I’m enjoying all the beauty. We don’t get snow where I live, and I do miss crunching through it. I miss the pristine sight of the world after a snowfall. This winter has been bold, and I know some of you are ready to say goodbye to the white stuff, but you must admit it does have its own loveliness. I feel a bit left out. But a trip to the local nursery got me noticing the white around me–in the form of winter flowers. Light and white. So clean and simple and pretty. Here are a few.

The dainty.

The intriguing.

The fun.

The funny-faced.

The sweet (William).

These are called Candytuft. Great name, right?!

And this delicate flower is called White Lace.

Then there are the peeking petunias.

I hope these blooms bring some cheer to your heart today.

So how about you? What’s your world looking like? Are you ready for spring to appear?

So many lovely flowers. That second flower is beautiful and of course my Blessings favorite are the pansies-the flowers with faces she tells me.

Yes, this was a really nice pick me up – gorgeous flowers – and I don’t even get snow here! But it has been really grey here.

They’re all so beautiful… though the white dahlias are my favorite! Flowers always brighten up a space and my mood, even in the gloomiest of winter days πŸ™‚

Nice contrast to the ever-present winter snow-white photos…especially their descriptor-words.

Beautiful flowers! I am ready for spring, and some said that they had seen flowering snowdrops already. We have not had much snow this winter, but lots of rain and no sun. The last days we have got some sunshine and feel the energy comes back! Today I have been blessed with some beautiful bouquets of flowers, 60 years ago on this day I was born in a terrible snowstorm πŸ™‚

Our mounds of snow are melting away this week. Temps are nice, but I still feel a long way away from blooms as lovely as these. Thanks for sharing!

Ha ha, what you call winter flowers is blooming in Germany in summertime! πŸ˜‰
So winter (and winter flower) seems to be more or less a matter of definition…

Thanks for your kind comment, Sharon!

Enjoy a pleasant week in your type of winter!

Uwe.
